The article on parliamentary questions on the front page of Friday’s edition refers.

In reply to a question about the sale of SAA, President Cyril Ramaphosa said: “Frankly, SAA was bankrupt and in a messy situation.”

Predictably he did not mention that his ANC had destroyed SAA. (Former SAA board chairperson) Dudu Myeni and others, supported by then-president Jacob Zuma brought SAA to its knees.

The Treasury approved several bailouts amounting to billions of rand and, undoubtedly, many ANC officials lined their pockets accordingly.

One also finds it suspicious that Minister Pravin Gordhan, for years, insisted on keeping SAA alive and brokered the sale to Takatso. I’m sure he stands to benefit handsomely.

Why has Myeni not been charged? She should be in orange overalls. When her day comes, she will probably develop a terminal illness like her former patron.

Sadly, the opposition let this opportunity slip when they should have spoken up.
