South African content creator and businesswoman Mbali Sebapu has launched a children’s book.
The founder of Hermosa Flor partnered with entrepreneur and writer, Ntombenhle Khathwane to release confidence building children’s book, “Heiress Decides To Be A Princess”.
“Step into the magical Kingdom of Hermosa, where every girl is a princess and every heart is beautifully made. Meet Heiress, a curious, creative 8-year-old who loves designing dresses, and styling her afro, inspired by the beauty of her kingdom, but Heiress wonders: can she ever be as great a princess as the Queens she admires?” read the joint statement by Sebapu and Khathwane.
As a new mom whose daughter has rich hair, Sebapu was inspired to launch the book following the success of Heirmosa, a kid’s hair range.
“The future is about collaboration. Even though we are both in the beauty and personal care space, we know there is room for all, and that we have our own customers. But importantly, why not come together to amplify important messages that matter to both brands?” said Sebapu.
“I want my daughter to inherit a better world, not just a thriving business. I have experienced so much unkindness and outright bullying on social media as I have built my brands and businesses and I want my daughter to be in generation that is just kind.”
Meanwhile, Khathwane added that she wants children to redefine their own beauty and be confident in their uniqueness.
“I have spent years studying neurolinguistic programming, psychology and philosophy and have built-in messaging into AfroBotanics that inspires the consumer to find their own kind of beautiful, as our tagline suggests.
“I am inspired to find ways to awaken women, men and children to their highest potential,” she said.
