Media powerhouse Relebogile Mabotja has entered into the world of podcasting.

The TV producer and radio presenter recently dropped the first episode of “The Relebogile Mabotja Podcast”, with celebrated singer, Msaki, as her guest.

Mabotja shared that her brand new podcast will focus on rich and meaningful conversations with public figures and other people from different walks of life.

“We going to talk about all things to do with life, careers, loss, love, fun, maybe even current affairs.

“We just going to create a space where we can have a bit of fun, and also just a space outside of traditional broadcasting mediums where we are restricted, and I think it’s so me and it’s so the time,” Mabotja said.

Kicking off the first episode, Mabotja welcomed the multi-award-winning musician, Msaki.

Mabotja complimented Msaki on being such a versatile musician who never strains her voice.

“I’ve always seen you as this mellow, effortless performer, you’re never straining or pushing your vocals. It feels so soulful and spiritual for me. I can’t even say which chakra you’re singing from,” she said.

Msaki responded: “You are recognising an intentional ease in how I’ve tried to move, it’s something I feel is a gift. I can’t perform the song; they just flow out.

“Part of why I am very careful with when I performing is because I am very aware when it is coming from a space that’s not overflowing ... I’ve been able to tap into that because that ease has always been there and it’s something I don’t ever want to take for granted.”

The musician opened up about using her music to encourage people.

She also spoke about how the notion of “productivity equals success” has negatively impacted her life and how she now tries to maintain a balance.

“It’s a blessing to be wanted for the things that you can do and the things that are coming out of you naturally but, if you are not a good custodian of that, the same thing eclipses your judgement about whether you’re present for your family, friends, kids or yourself, the same gift can become a curse.

“I almost learnt that too late, it was just so overwhelming, how much love there was, but at the same time, I don’t think I had a team that was able to protect my energy levels. I was overextended.”

“Being well for me is having a sense of balance and a very intentional way of resting, because I had a burnout, I’m still in a very deep rest where I’m realising that even being in my second year of not performing, it’s still not enough time to feel untired.”

The talented singer also talked about her struggles with celebrity culture and the pressures of fame, dealing with headlines and trends, marriage and motherhood in the public eye, and lessons learned from her recent hiatus.

She also shared a glimpse into her exciting new projects and passions.
