“Whovians” read up because your favourite science fiction is making a coming back. 

Streaming giant, Disney+ recently announced that the “Doctor Who” adventure series is set to air in April.  

Ncuti Gatwa stars as the 2,000-year-old time-travelling Doctor with his co-star, Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra. 

Together, the two set of to travel across time and space in a ship called "Tardis".

In season two, the Doctor meets Belinda and they embark on an adventure to get her back to Earth.

However, their journey back has a lot of hiccups along the way as a mysterious force disturbs their travel.

Giving fans a sneak peek to the upcoming series, Disney+ released a trailer. 

In the trailer, we see the Doctor’s adventures with Belinda as they travel from a futuristic 51st century to the 803rd interstellar song contest and then to becoming animated characters.

Getting home seems to be a challenge for Belinda. She asks a boy what year it is and he replies, “2007”.

The new season is taking fans on a whirlwind of emotions as the Doctor tries his best to take Belinda back home. 

“Doctor Who” started in 1963 and aired until 1989. However, there were multiple unsuccessful attempts to revive the series.

In 2005, the series was relaunched and was produced by BBC Wales. 

To promote diversity and inclusivity, the show has allowed the Doctor to change ethnicity and gender at any turn. 

Jodie Whittaker became the first woman cast in the lead role in 2017 while Gatwa became the first black actor to headline the series in 2024. The show also stars Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday.

Guest stars include, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Christopher Chung, Rylan Clark, Alan Cumming, Anita Dobson, Freddie Fox, Michelle Greenidge, Jonah Hauer-King, Ruth Madeley, Jemma Redgrave and Susan Twist.

Season 2 is looking like a whole lot of fun, with historical adventure, futuristic action and plenty of humor and heart.
