Mzansi Magic viewers started witnessing witchcraft in the early days of the popular soapie "Isibaya," then the channel gradually introduced more supernatural drama series, with the likes of "Igazi, Isikizi," and now "The Herd".
In its fourth episode, viewers were left on the edge of their seats when Muzi (Sparky Xulu) caught his mother MaMngadi (Winnie Ntshaba) practising witchcraft.
Muzi was led to the witches den by the Dingaan (Tiisetso Thoka) after Samkelisiwe, the ancient cow with supernatural powers, went missing in his care.
Dingane is the best tracker ever, he can tell us who murdered Senzo. #TheHerdMzansi #TheHerd pic.twitter.com/x3GjwZG9Gb

It was Samkelisiwe who helped bring the family wealth, although, from the onset, it was made known that it was also the human sacrifice, the death of Kayise (Sihle Ndaba)'s mother that kickstarted their climb.
#TheHerd #TheHerdMzansi I knew The Herd had a lot of witchcraft when “uBaba” took his hat off twice at the table 😳 pic.twitter.com/KpAoPIMQ1H

Now to keep the wealth, MaMngadi believes she must sacrifice Kayise, who is the daddy's golden girl.
Bab’Mthethwa (Sello Maake Ka Ncube) doesn't hide it from his other children that Kayise is his favourite child. Every so often he tells his eldest son Muzi just how useless he is, and recently made an announcement to the family that he's ready to retire and Kayise will take over the reins and that made MaMngadi despise Kayise even more.
The evil stepmom and her witchery crew decided to kill Samkelisiwe. According to MaMngadi, the old cow's liver will help convince Bab’Mthethwa to sacrifice his golden girl.
#TheHerdMzansi So they ended up killing the cow?! Tjo! Thought they'd stop after Muzi caught them✋👏

Will Bab’Mthethwa allow MaMngadi to sacrifice Kayise? We will have to wait until next Sunday.
