With summer approaching so too does the anticipation for the holiday season.

Getting everyone in a celebratory mood is the inaugural Homecoming NUZ Music Festival promises an exhilarating celebration of music and culture anticipated for December 15 at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

With an impressive line-up of local talent, this music and lifestyle experience intends to immerse attendees in the vibrant essence of South African artistry while contributing to the community of Umlazi.

Headlining the festival are Mzansi’s stars Young Stunna, Tony Dayimane and Goldmax, alongside an array of other acclaimed artists including Okmalumkoolkat, Xola TSM and Vanger Boyz.

The festival organisers aim to create an inclusive environment filled with entertainment, dance and outstanding performances across various genres, promising a feast for the senses.

The Homecoming NUZ Music Festival is poised to be more than just an event; it is a brilliant call to support the local community.

Tickets are available at Webticket and at Pick n Pay with prices set at an accessible R150 for general access and R250 for VIP access.

All proceeds will go towards the socio-upliftment initiatives in Umlazi, highlighting the festival's commitment to giving back to the community.

“This is not just an event; it’s an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the community,” says Lungelo Mbatha, founder and production manager of the festival.

He reveals that the festival has partnered with the non-profit organisation Kasi Kids Lives Matter to advance its community-building agenda.

“Very soon we will unveil other activities that guests can expect at the festival,” he adds.

The festival will also feature an eclectic marketplace where guests can enjoy delightful local cuisine, refreshing beverages and various other offerings within a friendly and celebratory environment, making it an ideal outing for family and friends.

Media personalities will serve as MCs for the day, enhancing the overall experience while ensuring that the festival captures the spirit of unity and culture.

In a recent media launch at Depot Fare restaurant in Umlazi, Mbatha expressed excitement about partnering with Intokozo FM as the official media sponsor.

“Expect to hear more about our plans to create an unforgettable homecoming experience and learn how we are working together to support the community through impactful programming and coverage,” he stated passionately.
