Tina Knowles, renowned for her remarkable contributions to both the fashion industry and as the mother of global icons Beyoncé and Solange, has recently opened up a new chapter in her life.

Through an era of reflection and empowerment, Knowles is set to share her journey in a forthcoming book, aptly titled “Matriarch”.

In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, she revealed the driving force behind her decision to write this book - her deep-rooted belief that storytelling is fundamental to understanding one’s identity.

In her candid post, Knowles stated, “I have always been a storyteller, and it’s something I learned from my mother. When I had a family of my own, I believed that my daughters needed to know where they came from to know where they were going.”

Set for release in April, “Matriarch” is not just a memoir; it’s a celebration of strength, motherhood, Black pride, and identity - themes that Knowles holds close to her heart.

The matriarch expressed her desire to share the lessons she has learned over a lifetime, stating, “Even at 70 I am still learning valuable lessons - revelations that I wish that I would have had at 40 or even 20.”

Through this sharing, she aims to create a connection with her readers, offering wisdom that transcends generations.

At the core of Knowles’ narrative is the belief that women play an essential role in passing down knowledge from one generation to the next.

Her assertion, “What inspires me is the wisdom that women pass on to each other,” speaks volumes about the importance of community and support among women.

Knowles sees writing this book as a vital act of connection, bridging the gap between past and present, and equipping the next generation with the tools they need to thrive.

By sharing the lessons learned from her own life and those of her ancestors, she hopes to empower women to embrace their journey with grace and resilience.

As anticipation builds for the release of “Matriarch”, Knowles encourages her audience to reflect on their lineages and the stories that shape who they are.

The timing of this release coincides with another literary venture from a prominent figure in the beauty industry, former Miss Universe Margaret Gardiner, who has recently introduced her book “Damaged Beauty: Joey Superstar”.

In her narrative, Gardiner unveils the glitzy yet tumultuous world of modelling, highlighting the challenges and complexities surrounding fame.

"The book isn’t my story," Gardiner notes, "but it is inspired by some of the things I saw," revealing her intent to explore universal themes through a fictional lens.
