Hollywood star Lupita Nyong'o is making giant strides in fashion as she partners with House of Chanel.

The award-winning actress has been announced as the global ambassador for Chanel and was one of the esteemed guests at the brand’s Spring-Summer 2025 ready-to-wear show which recently took place at the Grand Palais.

It was the brand’s first show at Paris Fashion Week in four years.

At the show, Chanel unveiled their latest collection, celebrating femininity and women’s freedom.

“We’re celebrating being free and expressive as women. There was a femininity to the collection, and boldness, you know,” said the actress.

The “Wild Robot” star has been a friend of the brand for more than ten years and has worn their clothes with pride. Being chosen as a brand ambassador was an honour.

“They were one of my first supporters. I remember wearing them as early as 2013 right when my first film, ‘12 Years a Slave,’ came out.

“ And over the years, they’ve often invited me to things and treated me with wonderful hands, and so when they approached me to be an ambassador, I felt very honoured,” she told “WWD”.

Having Nyong’o as an ambassador is a big win for the house. Not only is she a talented actress, but a stylish woman. Her taste in fashion is impeccable and what makes her stand out is her boldness.

Usually at red carpet events, she goes for bright colours which match so well with her dark chocolate skin. For example, at the “Wild Robot” premiere, she donned a light green flowy custom gown by Delcore and exuded elegance and sophistication.

At another occasion, she wore a red lace gown and looked so chic.

Nyong’o is also a fan of African fashion and doesn’t mind coming to South Africa to shop at the Thebe Magugu house in Johannesburg.
