South African music sensation and style icon Daliwonga has made waves at the Diesel FW25 Show in Milan, where he embodied the brand as their Global Ambassador.

Daliwonga became Diesel’s brand ambassador last November, after the brand noticed not only his musical talent but also his elite fashion sense as one of the best-dressed musicians in the amapiano genre.

According to a statement, upon his arrival in Milan, Daliwonga was immediately immersed in the world of high fashion, being fittingly styled for the much-anticipated fashion show.

The “Abo Mvelo” hitmaker was dressed in a custom-made outfit which the brand says was a "vibrant reflection of his unique persona".

Seated in the front row among other global ambassadors, Daliwonga showcased South African pride amidst a star-studded gathering celebrating the brand's daring vision.

The star took to Instagram to share Instagram Stories of him being swamped by photographers who wanted to get a closer look at him.

Meanwhile, Diesel, in a classic case of equally valuing set design and fashion design, transformed its show space into an immersive art exhibit.

Led by concept designer Studio Dennis Vanderbroeck, the creation of this season’s set design brought underground graffiti culture to the forefront.

According to online reports, Glenn Martens, the creative director of Diesel, explained that he harnessed the artistic power of 7,800 graffiti artists worldwide, found via an open call, to transform the room into this season’s community-driven installation.

The Global Street Art Collective consisted of young artists from countries including India, Italy, South Africa, China, Japan, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia who worked with full artistic freedom to paint nearly 3.2 kilometres of fabric.

The Fall/Winter 2025 collection exemplified the best of Martens’ contrasting sartorial language.

Denim was laminated, lacquered and shredded in every which way Martens could think, while Houndstooth sets were woven, layered and tattered.

Paper mache-like button-downs and bumsters barely clung to the model’s bodies, while boiled leather jackets were permanently creased with wire hems.

As for our very own Mzansi fashionista, Daliwonga, he is gearing up for an exhilarating year filled with new brand collaborations and global tours.
