Berlin, Germany - A 1995 BMW 320i with just 410 kilometres on the clock has gone on sale in the Netherlands for more than the price of the equivalent new model.
Germany's Auto Zeitung motoring gazette reported that the metallic green four-seater with modern features such as air-conditioning and heated wing mirrors, and a spotless light grey interior was being offered for sale in the Dutch town of Nuth in Limburg province.
The BMW's 110kW straight six engine is mated to an automatic gearbox, which makes for solid if lacklustre performance; the car is likely to attract interest as a museum piece rather than an everyday car.
The asking price of €49 950 (R862 000) is well above the list price of €37 000 (R640 000) for a new 320i, which is rated at 136kW and offers a much more spirited drive.
The 320i model was designated E36 in the BMW nomenclature and built from 1990 to 1999.
