Ingolstadt, Germany - Comments on this Audi promo for the upcoming RS3 Sportback range from "creepy" to "life-affirming" (C'mon, people - this is a machine we're talking about!) to "misleading" (The RS3 is based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform and has a lot more in common with the current Polo than a first-generation R8) - but it's undeniable that these are some of the most powerful images we've seen in a car commercial since the iconic South African-made Volkswagen ads of the early 1980s.
The RS3 Sportback, due in South Africa in the fourth quarter of 2015, will boast the hottest five-cylinder production engine in Audi history - a 2.5-litre TFSI turbopetrol quoted at 270kW and 465Nm, the latter delivered 1650-5550rpm.
Meanwhile - what do you think of the RS3's delivery-room footage - skin-crawlingly weird or just plain gross?
