Johannesburg - Rapula Kobane of RL Property Investments says he is concerned about changes to taxation which Minister Tito Mboweni may announce during his 2020 Budget speech on Wednesday.
"As a business owner I am concerned about the 2020 Budget speech. The main reason for this is based around the perceived tax increase.
"Should there be a tax increase this will affect pricing from our suppliers for example, which means we may have to pass down that pricing increase to the customers and this in turn may end up affecting our sales," said Kobane.
"At the moment our business is thriving, but there is a level of uncertainty about how the outcomes of the Budget may impact our bottom line."
Turning to state-owned entites, Kobane expressed concern about the cost to businesses of prolonged rotational power cuts by state-owned power utility Eskom.
"I certainly hope that the budget allocated to SOEs such as Eskom is adequate and properly used to reduce such things as load shedding which has a negative impact on our production targets."
