NBS, Boland cut loan rates

NBS Bank and Boland PKS have announced a further 0,25 percentage point cut in their home loan base rate to 22,75 percent this week.

The revised rate applies to new business immediately and for existing bondholders it comes into effect on January 2, 1999.

This follows a cut in home loan rates by these two banks by 0,25 percentage points to 23 percent last week.

The latest decrease brings the NBS and Boland PKS home loan rates of 22,75 percent in line with First National Bank, Investec, Nedcor, Saambou and Standard Bank.

Absa and Mercantile's base home loan rate is currently 22,50 percent.

The prime rate is currently 23 percent.
