NBS and Boland Banks announced a one percentage point drop in their prime and home loan rates from 22 percent to 21 percent late yesterday.
The new prime rate kicks in on Wednesday and home loan rates on March 1 for existing borrowers.
Other banks are expected to follow with cuts soon.
