Orlando Pirates will continue their Nedbank Cup title defence when they tackle Baroka FC in the round of 16 of the competition.

The draw for the competition went ahead as planned despite the game between beleaguered Royal AM and second tier Milford not yet being played. The team that advances from that game will host Sekhukhune United.

The round of 16 will also feature three all-top flight ties as Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs entertain Chippa United, Marumo Gallants face AmaZulu, and Stellenbosch FC going up against Polokwane City.

Amakhosi reached this stage of the competition after a comprehensive victory over Free Agents FC over the weekend. The win came from the club's best performance of the season, and they will be hoping to carry that form into the Soweto Derby this weekend.

Non-league minnows Mpheni Home Defenders will have a tough task on their hands as they have been draw to play the mighty Mamelodi Sundowns. Mpheni reached this stage of the competition after a shock 3-1 win over Hungry Lions.

Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders Durban City – formely Maritzburg United – will play the winner of the game between Vasco da Gama and TS Galaxy, which at the time this article was published, was still underway.
