THE eThekwini Municipality announced that water supply to the central and southern parts of the metro would be disrupted on Tuesday as they carried out maintenance.

The city said areas supplied by the South Coast Augmentation Pipeline, from Isipingo down to Scottburgh, would be affected.

“The municipality would like to notify the public of the planned interruption of water supply in the areas supplied by the South Coast Augmentation Pipeline. The affected areas include parts of central and south regions.

“The planned interruption is aimed at completing maintenance of the electrical Medium Voltage New SCA Booster Pump station. Maintenance work will commence on Tuesday from 5am."

The affected areas comprise Isipingo Beach, Isipingo Hills, Isipingo Rail, Lotus Park, Orient Hills, Prospecton Industrial and Umlazi T.

The others are: Malaba Hills, Reunion, Umlazi V, Umlazi Mission A, Malagazi, Malukazi, the Ekuhlengeni Psychiatric Hospital, Ezimbokodweni and Southgate Industrial Park, as well as Athlone Park, the Amanzimtoti central business district, Kingsburgh, Almond, Doonside and lower Illovo, Panorama Park, Umgababa, Mgobhozini, Mfume, Kwamakhutha, Craigieburn, Umkomaas and Scottburgh.
