Bloemfontein - The baby who was found dead a week ago, has still not been identifed, Free State police said on Wednesday.
Police in Thabong have appealed to community members to help them identify the baby that was found dead a week ago.
“The 10-day-old infant was found wrapped in a black refuse bag on Wednesday, August 5 at about 5:30pm at an open space near Dieketseng Primary School in Meloding. It is alleged that the infant was seen by children who were playing soccer at the open field,” said spokesperson Sergeant Mamello Mokhuoane.
At the time, Meloding police and emergency services were summoned to the scene to attend to the baby, who “was certified dead at the scene”, Mokuoane said.
Mokuoane urged any members of the public with any information about the deceased baby’s identity to contact the station or the Crime Stop number at 0800 10111.
