Durban - The unprecedented growth and demand for direct flights from Johannesburg to Margate has led to the CemAir airline almost doubling the seating capacity of the previous 19-seater plane.
CemAir introduced the service from OR Tambo airport to the coastal resort last year. On Wednesday, Ugo South Coast Tourism’s chief executive Justin Macrory said he had attended the airline’s first birthday celebrations earlier this month.
“We congratulated CemAir on the vision and confidence in the South Coast as a destination, not only for servicing leisure travellers’ requirements, but also for bringing in an increasing number of business and conference opportunities.”
The airline has just bought its first Bombardier Dash-8 aircraft, which has arrived in time for the busy December holiday season.
