Singer Meghan Trainor is no longer about that “bass”, at least, not in the same way. From championing body acceptance with her breakthrough hit “All About That Bas” to candidly discussing weight loss medication, Meghan Trainor’s relationship with body image has evolved in the public eye.

The singer-songwriter, known for promoting body positivity and self-acceptance, has recently revealed a slimmer figure at the Billboard Women in Music event, leaving fans shocked and sparking speculation about her weight loss methods. She admits to using a weight loss drug in an Instagram post.

Trainor attended the awards, held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on March 29, where the singer turned heads on the red carpet in a stunning little black lacy number that showcased her more rounded silhouette.

However, the moment was met with questions and speculations about her weight loss methods, which she addressed following the event, where she took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the experience.

In the post, she opened up about the changes in her appearance, sharing her journey towards a healthier lifestyle and emphasising the importance of celebrating talent, growth, and self-care.

She posted a series of photos of herself on the red carpet, captioning it: “Feeling so honoured to be recognised by @billboard Women in Music as a Hitmaker - what a dream!

“But it’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here. This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry.”

Trainor went on to address the changes in her appearance, emphasising that she does not look the same way she did 10 years ago because of the health journey she has been on.

“I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and me. I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy.

"And I'm so glad I did because I feel great,” she added.

The 31-year-old mother of two admitted to using “Mounjaro”, a drug used for type 2 diabetes that triggers drastic weight loss.

The comments the singer speaks of are those that were made by fans, who speculated that she has been using a weight loss drug due to how she’s been looking from 2024 until her recent appearance.

She concluded her post by emphasising the importance of celebrating talent, growth, and self-care, saying, “Here's to celebrating talent, growth, and the power of putting yourself first. Let's keep shifting the convo to what really matters.”

With that candid moment, she has shut down all the previous rumours about her using “the big O” (Ozempic).
