Global superstar Tyla recently tried to pulled the wool over her mother Sharleen Seethal’s eyes. However, it didn’t necessarily get the reaction Tyla thought it would get.

The prank was part of an interview Tyla did for “Elle” magazine in the US. The “Water” hitmaker is the magazine’s October cover star.

The 22-year-old was asked to phoned her mother and break the news of her “pregnancy”.

“Hello ma, are you able to go somewhere else and don’t tell daddy,” said Tyla at the start of the conversation.

She continued: “Ma, um, I think I’m pregnant.”

Her mom responded: “Ah yeah, I’m happy. I had a feeling for a long time. That’s what I’m seriously shocked about. Oh my God. I swear to God. God, I had premonition. I swear to God, just yesterday.”

Tyla was shocked. She could see that the prank, which was meant to make her mom angry, was not going according to plan, so she turned it up a notch.

“Ma, I don’t know who the father is,” said Tyla.

Her mom said: “Why, what happened? Talk to me. Tyla, are you joking with me?”

By this time, Tyla could not stop the giggles and confessed that it was indeed a prank.

“It’s a prank for ‘Elle’ magazine, ma.”

But her mother continued to tell her about the premonitions.

“I spoke to Aunty Mila and I said to her that I need grandchildren … Oh my God.”
